Public welcome to play in ‘Holiday Tubas’ event Dec. 4 at Northwestern; registration deadline Nov. 27

On Dec. 4, Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Fine Arts will play host to a festive event for low brass titled, "Holiday Tubas." Students, directors and community members are invited to join on euphonium or tuba.
To join the performance, register online at www.nwosu.edu/forms/holiday-tubas by Nov. 27. There is no cost to register, and dinner will be provided. The music is from flexibly scored quartets and will be provided the day of the event.
A schedule for the day includes:
- 3 p.m. - Registration at Herod Hall Auditorium
- 3:30-5 p.m. - Rehearsal
- 5 p.m. - Dinner
- 6 p.m. - Performance at Herod Hall Auditorium
Dr. Marc Decker, assistant professor of music and director of bands, encourages casual and festive attire such as red and green colors, santa hats, and so on.
“We’re looking forward to tuba and euphonium players throughout Northwest Oklahoma that will gather for our festive concert playing holiday music,” Decker said. “The concert starts at 6 p.m., and children of all ages are welcome to attend.”
