The Mission of the NWOSU Pre-Nursing Association (PreNA)

  1. Provide an effective means for all pre-nursing students to have a voice in the PreNA.
  2. Promote fellowship, communication, and interaction among pre-nursing students.
  3. Improve campus life.


The Purpose of NWOSU PreNA

  1. Create an environment for students to learn about the profession of nursing.
  2. Aid in the development of the whole person, their professional role, and their responsibility for the health care of people in all walks of life.
  3. Nurture pre-nursing students to become leaders and future caring nurses.
  4. Promote a spirit of friendship and cooperation among students, faculty, and other student organizations.


The Functions of NWOSU PreNA

  1. Promote and encourage participation in community affairs and activities toward improved health care.
  2. Promote and encourage recruitment efforts, participation in student activities, and educational opportunities regardless of a person’s race, color, creed, sex, lifestyles, national origin, or economic status.
  3. Promote and encourage students’ participation in interdisciplinary activities.
  4. Promote and encourage collaborative relationships with nursing and related health organizations.
  5. Provide career and academic counseling and support for members.
  6. Promote recruitment and retention of students into nursing.
