Fine Arts Student Spotlights
Sam Grinder, Sayre senior, vocal music education
Having the privilege to be involved in three of the four areas of the fine arts department here at Northwestern has granted me many opportunities and experiences that I would not have had, had I chosen a different university. The sense of belonging at this university is truly special. You are not limited by only being involved in one area of the fine arts. You can be expendable and be involved in all areas if one so chooses. This sense of belonging translates between all areas of the fine arts, and the constant support I have received from both my professors and peers keeps pushing me to strive for excellence and improve in all of my areas of involvement. You become a part of a large family of artists when you become involved in the fine arts program. When I look back on my Northwestern experience I can say without a doubt, that I am exactly where I belong and now, I am equipped with the skills and tools to succeed wherever I go. Ride on! Sing on!
