(For best results, please fill out this form using the Google Chrome Browser.) Students not meeting the satisfactory academic progress criteria may seek to appeal a financial aid suspension if extenuating circumstances affect academic performance. Examples of extenuating circumstances include illness, medical issues with immediate family members, death in the family, or other traumatic life-altering events of the student. Supporting documentation is highly encouraged. Personal or financial issues with family, friends, or roommates are not considered extenuating circumstances. The appeal may not be based upon the need for assistance or the lack of knowledge that the assistance was in jeopardy. Appeals must explain in detail why the student failed to meet the minimum academic standards, what extenuating circumstances caused the failure, and how the situation has since improved.
