Northwestern’s Department of English, Foreign Language and Humanities to Welcome Visiting Writer Gene Kwak
March 1, 2024
The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Department of English, Foreign Language and Humanities will play host to author Gene Kwak for the annual Visiting Writer Series on Wednesday, March 13, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ranger Room on the Northwestern-Alva campus.
The Visiting Writer Series is open to students, faculty, staff and the general public.
“The series is our way of bringing writers with a tie to Oklahoma to our region every spring to discuss writing, the publishing industry and to share their work with all interested parties,” Dr. Matthew Lambert, assistant professor of English, said.
Kwak currently teaches at Oklahoma State University. He will be reading selections from his critically acclaimed debut novel titled “Go Home, Ricky!” about a semi-professional wrestler who undergoes an identity crisis after he is severely injured in the ring. He also will answer audience questions. The Northwestern bookstore will be present to sell the novel.
