Northwestern’s President’s Leadership Class to sponsor OBI Blood Drive Sept. 11-12
September 6, 2024
Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s President’s Leadership Class is partnering with the Our Blood Institute in Oklahoma to hold a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 11-12, in the Student Center Ranger Room on the Alva campus.
The blood donor goal for the event is 81 blood units for the drive. This event is open to the public.
“I have been so grateful to get to be a part of this year's PLC class, and I have been loving getting to help with the Blood Drive project,” said Mary Isbell, a freshman accounting major from Enid. “We had a class a couple of weeks ago with a guest speaker from OBI, and his talk changed my whole perspective on donating.”
All blood donors will receive a free limited-edition glow-in-the-dark “Peoplejuice” t-shirt. Free pizza will be available, and all donors will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a $25 Northwestern bookstore gift card.
“I have never donated before due to my lack of knowledge on the topic, but I am signed up to do it at the blood drive next week,” Isbell said. “I believe donating is an easy way to potentially save a life in the future. With that being said, I urge everyone to really consider donating.”
Donors will need to show a photo ID to give blood.
Those wishing to donate are encouraged to go online and make an appointment. To make an appointment for Wednesday, Sept. 11, visit https://www.yourbloodinstitute.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/647443
