September 18, 2024
The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Institute for Citizenship Studies and Department of Social Sciences will play host to the annual Constitution Day Observance. The free event will take place on Sept. 26 from 1-3 p.m. in the Ranger Room on the Northwestern-Alva campus.
This year’s topic is titled, “Open Forum: The U.S. Constitution, the Supreme Court, and the Upcoming Presidential Election.” The event will feature an open forum and dialogue between Dr. Eric Schmaltz, professor of history and department chair, and Dr. Aaron Mason, professor of political science.
As its title indicates, this year’s observance will involve a public discussion and exchange regarding some of the major contemporary legal and political developments related to the U.S. Constitution, the presidential election, and the U.S. Court System.
The facilitators request open dialogue and the public come ready with questions. This event is open to the public and free of charge. Free snacks and drinks will also be provided. For more information, please contact Mason at mason@nwosu.edu or (580) 327-8522.
