Eight Northwestern Oklahoma State University English, foreign language and humanities students were awarded scholarships recently.
Eight Northwestern Oklahoma State University English, foreign language and humanities students were awarded scholarships recently.
The Gladys Bingham-Dotter scholarship was awarded to senior English majors Chloe Wallace of Enid, and Anna Reed-Raney of Ponca City.
The Gloria Piersall Education scholarship was awarded to senior English majors Taylor Alexander of Duncan and Meghan Kaiser of Enid; English education major Jayden Dillon, Alva junior; and English major Angel Marshal, Tahlequah sophomore.
The Frances Wadley Slack scholarship was awarded to Alva seniors April Burchfield, biology major; Garyn Pierce, mathematics major; and Reed-Raney.
The Geraldine Burns Award for Excellence in English education was awarded to Dillon.
The Agnes Lebeda Writing scholarship was awarded to Wallace.
Scholarships are available through the Northwestern Foundation and Alumni Association because of many generous donors. Students must apply every year for these scholarships before the Feb. 15 deadline. Students should contact the department’s chair or faculty members to ask for more information about an application form.
