January 24, 2019
Spend 10 days abroad, earn college credit, and experience something new!
Community members and Northwestern Oklahoma State University students and employees can spend 10 days abroad in Italy—earn college credit enrolled as a Northwestern student—and experience something new this May. The deadline to sign-up for this trip is Feb. 14 by 11 p.m.
Departing around May 20 from Oklahoma City and returning May 29, travelers will be taking to the streets of Italy’s most fascinating cities – Venice, Florence, Assisi, Sorrento and Rome. From Venice’s endless canals to each Roman piazza, Italy has no shortage of awe-inspiring sights. The group will see Doge’s Palace pale façade change color at sunset, stroll over Ponte Vecchio and explore the ruins of the ancient Roman Forum on this grand tour of Italian culture.
Northwestern students interested in using the study abroad program for a three hour credit in humanities, must get approval from the group leaders of this study abroad adventure prior to enrolling in the eight-week course of Global Citizenship (UNIV 2013). Students should contact Dr. Wayne McMillin, dean of the Enid campus, or Shannon Leaper, assistant professor of library and information science and library services director. In order to receive credit students must attend both the study abroad trip and the eight-week course set for Thursdays, 3:25 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., beginning March 11 in the library room 101.
As the trip gets closer the deposit and overall trip rates adjust but locks upon enrollment.
The experience includes round-trip airfare, accommodations for rooms, on-tour transportation, regional-style meals, end-to-end support, curriculum integration, full-time tour director, expert local guides, guided sightseeing and entrances to specified entertainment.
