Miss Oklahoma 2018 Ashley Thompson Baldwin to Emcee Miss Northwestern’s Competition on Oct. 31

Serving as emcee at Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Miss Northwestern Competition is Miss Oklahoma 2018 Ashley Thompson Baldwin on Sunday, Oct. 31, at 4 p.m. in Herod Hall Auditorium.
Thompson Baldwin is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where she was awarded Outstanding Senior for the Women’s and Gender Studies Department and minored in Criminology and African-American Studies. During college, she was a member of OU’s President’s Leadership Class, the OU Pom Squad and Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
After competing in Miss Oklahoma's Outstanding Teen for three years and Miss Oklahoma for six years, in June 2018, Thompson Baldwin was crowned Miss Oklahoma and was later named a Top 15 semi-finalist at the Miss America Competition. During her reign, she served as the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital State Goodwill Ambassador and traveled nearly 40,000 miles speaking to over 50,000 Oklahoma students about her social impact initiative, “Human Trafficking: The Exploitation Epidemic.”
Currently, Thompson Baldwin is a legal intern at Manchester Law Firm in Oklahoma City, a licensed legal intern in OU Law's Civil Clinic, and a 3L law student at the University of Oklahoma College of Law where she is a Dean’s Leadership Fellow, student ambassador, a member of OU Law's negotiation team, and a member of the ABA regional champion client counseling team that placed fourth in the nation out of 106 teams.
Thompson Baldwin is the cousin of the reigning Miss Northwestern's Outstanding Teen, Libby Williams, who was Thompson Baldwin’s Miss Oklahoma Star for several years. Thompson Baldwin is a firm believer in the mission of the Miss Oklahoma and Miss America Organizations and the life-changing impact they have on the lives of young women across the country, state and local communities. She said she is excited to be part of this year's competition.
Competing for the Miss Northwestern title are: Brianna Berryman, senior biology health science option major from Guthrie; Laura Blair, junior psychology major from Waynoka; Sydnie Lookingbill, sophomore early childhood education major from Shattuck; Mattie Pitts, freshman elementary education major from Waynoka; Carli Seabolt, sophomore business major from Perry; Cora Beth Taylor, freshman biology major from Kingfisher; Morgan Villarreal, senior early childhood education major from Burns Flat; Rebecca Wagner, sophomore biology major from Pawnee; and Taylor Winn, freshman biology major from Mooreland.
Three high school students are participating in Miss Northwestern’s Outstanding Teen competition. Teens competing are: Kresta Badley of Gate; Jaxy Cloud of Seiling; and Ella Dierlam of Stillwater.
Doors open for the competitions at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available in the Northwestern Business Office or from candidates. General admission is $8 in advance or $10 at the door and $3 for students with ID.
