Nearly 300 Students to Perform at Northwestern During Red Carpet Honor Band Events March 8-9

Northwestern Oklahoma State University will play host to the 2024 Red Carpet Honor Band March 8-9 where nearly 300 middle and high school musicians will be on the Alva campus. This event was postponed from its original date of Jan. 12-13 because of weather.

Following several rehearsals, these students from across northwest Oklahoma will perform in a free concert open to the public on Saturday, March 9, at 1:30 p.m. in Herod Hall Auditorium.

Students will perform in ensembles that include percussion, woodwinds, brass and concert band. The students will rehearse all day Friday and on Saturday morning before the concert. The students will demonstrate what they learned over two days in their performance.

Schools with participants include Alva High and Middle Schools, Balko High and Middle Schools, Blackwell, Cashion, Chisholm Middle School, Covington-Douglas, Drummond, Lawton Eisenhower, Hennessey, Kremlin, Medford, Mooreland, Okarche, Okeene, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale, Pond Creek-Hunter, Ringwood, Seiling, Tonkawa, Vici, Watonga and Waukomis.
