Northwestern to Host Oklahoma Scholastic Esports Smash Brothers Tournament on Alva Campus

Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Esports team will play host to an Oklahoma Scholastic Esports Smash Brothers Tournament on Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Northwestern’s Alva campus Student Center Ballroom. Eleven area high schools and middle school will be on campus for the tournament. The event is open to the public to watch the competition.
High schools competing include Blackwell, Buffalo, Cheyenne, Guymon, Hammon, Laverne, Leedey, Ponca City, Watonga, Waynoka and Taloga. Middle schools competing are Blackwell, Cheyenne, Hammon, Taloga and Watonga.
There will be preliminary matches in the morning with winners advancing to final matches in the afternoon. Individual awards will be given at the end of the tournament. The top three high school students and top three middle school students will advance to state playoffs.
