Northwestern to Play Host to Blood Drive April 19-20
April 8, 2022
Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Alva campus is partnering with the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) to hold a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 19-20, in the Student Center Ranger Room.
Northwestern members from the Ranger Business Club, Pre-Nursing Association and Ranger soccer team are co-sponsoring the event.
All blood donors will receive a free limited edition “I Came for the Treats” t-shirt, a “My Owner is a Donor” pet bandana, one free admission to the Oklahoma City zoo, free health screenings and donor rewards points.
Free pizza will be available, and donors will also receive a coupon from Whataburger for a free honey butter chicken biscuit. All donors will receive a 20 percent off Hollywood Feed coupon and a chance to win Acana dog food for a year. There will also be a drawing for a $25 Northwestern Bookstore gift card.
Donors are asked have a photo ID available to give blood.
OBI officials say that one blood donation can save as many as three lives and takes only about an hour to give. Blood donations can be made every 56 days. Approximately 1,200 volunteer blood donors are needed each day to maintain the supply.
Those wishing to donate are encouraged to go online and make an appointment. To make an appointment for Tuesday, April 19, visit
