Students Encouraged to Participate in Ranger Research Day Nov. 19; Submission Deadline Nov. 5

Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s virtual Ranger Research Day will be Friday, Nov. 19, via Zoom.
The deadline for Ranger Research Day submissions is Friday, Nov. 5.
Graduate and undergraduate students create poster presentations or oral presentations of academic papers of research conducted in one of their classes.
Poster presentations for Ranger Research Day will begin at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom followed by academic paper presentations starting at 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.
There will be first, second and third place winners for each discipline category.
For the category of Arts and Music the disciplines are Art and Design; Theatre and Dance; and Music.
For the category of Business the disciplines are Accounting; General Business Administration; Business Communication; Economics; Finance; Information (MIS) Operations Management; and Management.
For the category of Education the disciplines are Curriculum; Gerontology; Human Environmental Sciences; Kinesiology, Health Studies and Special Services; Professional Teacher Education; and Psychology.
For the category of Liberal Arts the disciplines are Communication; English; Foreign and Modern Languages; History; Geography; Humanities; Philosophy; Political Science; Sociology and Substance Abuse Studies; Social Work; and American Studies.
For the category of Math and Science the disciplines are Biology; Chemistry; Computer Science; Forensic Science; Mathematics and Statistics; Nursing; Physics and Engineering; and Agriculture.
“Ranger Research Day provides the campus community with an opportunity to encourage research and to share research findings with others,” Dr. Shawn Holliday, associate dean of graduate studies, professor of English and director of the Master of Arts in American Studies Program, said. “Ranger Research Day really illustrates how dynamic Northwestern’s academic departments are.”
These participants can present at virtual Oklahoma Research Day in 2022, which Cameron University will play host to in March.
