Winners Announced in 22nd Annual NWOSU Art Society Art Show; Winning Pieces at Runnymede April 4

Connie Moore’s still life painting named “Mr. Digby’s Cup” is the Best of Show winner in the Non-Student Division of the Northwestern Art Society Art Show. Artwork will be in the J.W. Martin Library through April 1. A Winners’ Show of all winning art pieces will be at the Runnymede on April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Elayna Warrington’s drawing named “En Recuerdo” is the Best of Show winner in the Student Division of the Northwestern Art Society Art Show.

A piece in the Miscellaneous category by Elaina Pierce is the winner of the People’s Choice award during the Northwestern Art Society Art Show. This piece was voted the favorite by those who visited the show. 

A student drawing in the animal/creature category of Works on Paper and a painting in the non-student landscape/nature category have been selected as the Best of Show winners in their respective divisions during the 22nd annual Northwestern Oklahoma State University Art Society Art Show.

Elayna Warrington, Alva sophomore majoring in biology-natural history, is the Student Division winner with “En Recuerdo.”

The Non-Student Division winner for those who are current/retired employees or alumni is alumna Connie Moore of Waynoka with “Mr. Digby’s Cup.”

The People’s Choice winner selected by the voting public was awarded to Elaina Pierce, Alva sophomore majoring in biology/chemistry, for her entry in the Miscellaneous category titled “Consider the Wildflowers.”

The names of several other student and non-student winners have been compiled into a document that may be found on the NWOSU Art Society’s web page at https://www.nwosu.edu/art/nas-art-show in the NAS Art Show Winners’ tab.

Artwork will remain on display in the J.W. Martin Library through April 1.

A Winners’ Show of all pieces winning an award will take place on April 4 in downtown Alva at The Runnymede, across the street from the Alva Police Department. The artwork will be on display on the first floor of the building from 6-8 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

All non-placing artwork from the campus show must be picked up by 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, from the J.W. Martin Library.

 Artwork from the Runnymede may be picked up when the show is over at 8 p.m. on April 4.
